Entering the "Real World.......
Sliding my cap tassel to the left side in anticipation and pride.... I couldn't believe I had done what many of my piers couldn't . Junior year pregnancies .... Senior year drug charges...Sophomore year "semester breaks" had plagued so many of my peers. I'm still not sure how I was able to swerved out of dodge but I did, with the help of ME, MYSELF, AND I . A Partial scholarship, 2 part-time jobs and 3 "grants" later i was done. Expensive books that I couldn't sell back, dorms, meal plans and then rent (and all the lovely additions that rent comes along side) had sucked me nearly dry. The portrait that had been painted for me, that depicted college as though a fantasy land of sorts, where all that consumed a college students agenda was the consumption of alcohol and 1 night stands, frat parties and in-class naps ! Wherever this fantasy existed , I sure hadn't found it nor could I have afforded to....
